3. About the Role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps/System Administrator to join our team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our cloud and on-premise infrastructure, managing deployments, ensuring security, and leading our internal IT operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in AWS, MQTT, Linux, Docker, CI/CD, networking, and security.

In addition to managing cloud infrastructure, this person will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining physical servers, handling network configurations, and ensuring robust security measures for both on-site and remote environments. They will oversee IT operations, including MDM management, device provisioning, and access control. The role includes supporting OTA update mechanisms, managing the deployment of mobile applications to Play Store and Apple Store, and ensuring seamless integration of Quarkus-based backend services.

We need someone who is autonomous, reliable, and adaptable, capable of working independently while also collaborating with various teams. This person should be available for frequently travel and on-site visits to set up and maintain infrastructure at our facilities.

4. What You'll Do

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, including AWS IoT/MQTT and AWS Timeseries databases.
• Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes deployments.
• Maintain and manage Bitbucket repositories.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated deployments.
• Configure and maintain Linux-based servers (both cloud and physical servers on-site).
• Ensure network security and performance for small offices, including Wi-Fi setup, VPN, and firewall management.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, including device provisioning and MDM management (Mosyle or similar solutions).
• Implement and manage identity and access management using Keycloak.
• Maintain and optimize Quarkus-based services for our backend systems.
• Oversee the distribution of mobile apps on Nexus, Play Store and Apple Store.
• Manage OTA updates for Bhout’s hardware and software ecosystem.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Assist in the security hardening of both cloud and on-premise environments.

5. What You'll Need

• 2+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IoT, MQTT, AWS Timeseries, etc.).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Bitbucket pipelines and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with Linux system administration.
• Expertise in network setup and security, including VPNs, firewalls, and Wi-Fi configurations for small offices.
• Knowledge of identity management (Keycloak or similar tools).
• Familiarity with Quarkus and experience deploying Java-based microservices.
• Experience managing Play Store and Apple Store deployments.
• Understanding of OTA update mechanisms for IoT and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with MDM solutions (Mosyle or equivalent) for managing company devices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both software and hardware.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of IT and DevOps operations.
